The
21 Annual Great American Martial Arts Camp, 2008.
(check back later for dates and location of the GAMAC, 2008)
The “Camp” as it is know was started by Hanshi Steven Roensch back in 1987 and was held in a field on a nearby farm in
Sarasota.
Today, it is held in June at the beautiful Sarasota Polo Club and attracts martial artists of all styles by the hundred from all across the country.
The theme of this popular gathering is, as its name implies, very patriotic. This is the annual homecoming event of American Budokai International and features training in various styles of karate, jiu jitsu, as well as kuntao, kobudo, aikido, iaido, kyusho jitsu, kickboxing and healing arts such as Traditional Oriental Medicine, Shiatsu, Restorative Massage as well as stimulating lectures on the subjects of “The Psychology of Combat” and “Dealing with Fear.”
